GARDEN PARTY WEDDING
WHAT'S THE PLAN?
We're getting married in the village where Mel grew up. The ceremony will be in her parent's garden, the reception at the nearby village hall, and festivities will continue into the night in the field behind the house.

DRIVING
If you are driving, you can park for free for the duration of your visit in Bethersden Village Hall car park. It’s a very short walk to the house. Use postcode TN26 3AF to get you to the Village Hall
ACCOMMODATION
After the reception at Bethersden Village Hall, we will be continuing the party back at Chandus with more dancing and merriment. We want everyone to have a great time and enjoy the party for as long as your dancing shoes allow, so we invite guests to camp out under the stars. We’ll have bathroom, breakfast and dressing room facilities available, so feel free to bring a tent! We will be having a Sunday BBQ brunch and some garden games.

If you like the idea of camping, but prefer a little more luxury, you can book a ‘Glamping’ option in the form of a bell tent which will be pitched for you on the Friday, and will be ready and waiting for you to collapse into when you’ve danced yourself out.

For those that don’t want to camp, the nearest hotel is The Little Silver Country Hotel, which is approximately a 15 minute taxi journey from Bethersden, or there are several hotels in Ashford, and a selection of B&Bs in the surrounding villages. We recommend pre-booking a taxi to get you home at the end of the night if you will be staying in a hotel or B&B.
The ceremony and afterparty will be taking place on grass, so please bear this in mind when deciding on footwear!

We have arranged a mobile bar to be at the Village Hall in the evening selling a range of locally produced drinks. Please note the bar is CASH ONLY and the nearest cash point is around 6 miles away, so please bring some cash with you if you'd like to purchase drinks.
In order to allow all guests, including parents, an evening of relaxation we have chosen for our wedding day to be an adult only occasion. We hope this advance notice means you are still able to share our big day and will enjoy having the evening off!
AFTERPARTY
After we leave the village hall and return to Chandus, we will be continuing the celebrations with a silent disco. Mel and Charlie will have a channel each, and there is a third channel which we welcome guests to submit mixes for! We hope for something about 30 mins in length. If you’d like to do this, let us know!

We will be providing beer and cider for the afterparty refreshments, but if you'd prefer something else, please feel free to bring it along with you.

We hope you enjoyed getting paper versions of us in the post with your invite! We'd love to see what you can do with these - take us somewhere nice, send us a message, or give us an interesting prop! We'd love for you to take a photo of our paper selves, and send it back to us at

You being there to share our special day with us is the best gift we could receive.
